The assembly of wooden children’s playhouse is a fun and exciting activity for the whole family! Easy to assemble, taking just a few hours with a great mood!
Below are assembly pictures of a wooden children’s playhouse “Girinukas”. Other playhouses are assembled on a similar basis, and we always recommend to follow the instructions provided. The assembly of the playhous is really easy, but if you are eager to have the house already assembled – we can offer additional wooden children’s playhouse assembly services, please call tel. no. +370 610 02111 or contact us by e-mail [email protected]

Step 1. Unpack the pallet on which the outdoor playhouse was delivered, put all the parts apart, spread them so that the separate parts are not overlapped. Please note that some parts may be damp. This is due to the deep impregnation method that provides wood protection in a wide range of weather conditions. The color of the impregnate is not the same, depending on the resin level in the wood. White shades can be noticed because of the displacement of salt from wood, and you can easily clean it with a sponge.
Step 2. As the result of impregnation, wood may be a bit green in the beginning. Do not be afraid. The moisture and the packaging may result some parts to have a different color, which is perfectly normal, the wood will dry out and get a different shade. After that the house will be painted in beautiful colors! Allow the wood surface to dry completely (about a couple of weeks) and then paint it. You can paint the parts separately before assembling or after you have completed to assemble the house.
Step 3. Get ready for assembly work. You will need a mechanic or electric screwdriver. Also have a drill with a thin drill bits and a spirit level, you may still need a ladder, a hammer – all these tools will make assembly work a real pleasure! Always keep the instructions, provided with the playhouse, with you and follow while assembling.
Step 4. Place the parts of the floorboard in their places as shown in the picture. It is important to assemble the boards correctly, do not mix up length with width.
Step 5. With the help of a thin drill bit, make holes in the wooden parts where the screws will be turned. Start drilling from the outer part (where will be the screw head), use a very thin drill bit.
Step 6. Do not forget to invite future small settlers to the house assembly process! 🙂 Building a playhouse can become a great family fun!
Step 7. Drilling the outer part (holes made with a drill) will facilitate screw tightening and ensure the correct screw position. This will prevent the visible part of wood from splitting up. Drill only the outer part. This will ensure the correct position of the screw. First the screw will be screwed into the upper part, later it will be fixed in the second part. If you drill properly, even the longest screws will not cause any difficulties. Due to proper preparation, the next stages of work will not only be faster, but also much more enjoyable.
Step 8. We screws are turned into the drilled holes. It is very important not to over-tighten the screw, as this may split up wooden parts. To ease the task, some parts can be screwed by positioning them horizontally.
Step 9. Please note that it is very important to attach the parts to the columns properly. Due to misplacement, floor boards may be too short. After that fix the playhouse stilts. There must be an appropriate angle between the columns and the fasteners. If this will not be done, the columns will not stand still and the house will not stand straight. It is necessary to maintain a steep angle between the legs and the base of the house – you can use the spirit level to do it!
Step 10. When the stilts of the house are attached, it is time to assemble the structure exactly in the place where the house will stand, because later the construction may be too heavy for lifting.
Step 11. All members of the family are interested and eager to end the assembly of the house in the yard. In the midst of the work, it’s a great time to take a family photo to remember how the house building process was going!
Step 12. When the supports are already installed, we place the main beam, which rests on the floor (in the middle) and the smaller cross-section beams (on the sides). At this stage it is important to remember that the beams have to be arranged in parallel.
Step 13. Remember to start with drilling work, i. e. at first make holes with a thin drill dip and then turn the screws.
Step 14. We put floorboards on the prepared structure. Please note that “swing” has no effect on the final result. Place the board near to each other. It is important not to mix up board length with width!
Step 15. Put the boards. You may not be too precise, as wooden floors expand or shrink with time, resulting in small waves or gaps. This is perfectly normal and is one of the wooden boards features.
Step 16. We drill ONLY floor boards because the edges of the boards are close to the beams. Only then we turn the screws. It is necessary not to over-tighten the screws – because the wood boards can split up.
Step 17. Start installing ONLY on one edge along. The number of screws is specified in the instructions. The other end of the board may rise – it’s normal.
Step 18. Next, tighten the other edge of the board. Combine the boards. Do not forget to drill the holes as we mentioned in the previous steps.
Step 19. Some walls (front and rear) are not rectangular and are made up of two parts. Those parts need to be connected in frames. Do not forget to follow the instructions of the playhouse – everything is there.
Step 20. Tighten the wall module frame to the floor. Do not forget to drill the holes before as we mentioned it in previous steps. Start from the rear wall.
Step 21. Tighten the side wall with screws on the floor and on the rear wall frame.

Step 22. Similarly, tighten the other side wall.

Step 23. Four walls are already assembled .

Step 24. Roof panels are installed in the same way as wall modules. Roof panel frames are fastened with screws on wall frame modules. Do not forget to drill holes before screwing.

Step 25. Everyone is eager to finish the assembly….:) Not much left!

Step 26. Get inside the playhouse – install the ladder,  which is very easy, use the instructions provided.

Step 27. Children’s wooden playhouse railings are also easy to install!

Step 28. It is important to install the columns that will hold the roof over the terrace.

Step 29. If you want to set up a skating rink at the house, then the railings will need to be reduced, depending on the size of the slope. Do not forget the golden rule: Measure Twice, Cut Once!

Step 30. Roof panels are fixed with screws to the terrace columns. At this stage, we do not install slides or a ladder. Without these elements, it will be easier for us to cover the roof with bituminous coating.

Step 31. Cover the roof with bituminous coating…

Step 32.Nail down the bituminous cover and fix the edges with the appropriate laths.

Step 33. Fix the laths on the sides, at the back and in the front. When covering the roof, it is important to start with a bituminous coating on the edges. Fix the last bituminous cover sheet on the top of the roof so that it partially covers the previously covered sheets, which will improve the drainage of the water.

Step 34. After the roof works, it’s time to install the stairs. Screws are fixed from the inside – do not forget to drill the holes before.

Step 35. Start with window installation!

Step 36. Finally, install one of the most important elements of the house – the door!

Playhouse assembled! Organize a housewarming party and invite some friends!
